Medical Tourism Risks and Emergencies FAQ

Risks and Emergencies

1. What emergency support is available if I encounter complications or adverse reactions during my stay?

As apart of your Medical Tourism personal plan aftercare, a local nursing staff is always provided after a procedure. However, should emergency care be needed, we routinely arrange travel medical insurance within your travel itinerary. Additionally, the Surge Trip App will have additional resources and local numbers for assistance. Further, ambulatory transport and VIP medical airport/cruise service will ensure a pain-free experience onboard/offboard the vessel.

2. Are there protocols in place for emergency evacuation if I need to return home urgently?

Crisis Protocols are observed at every point of a medical tour. Travel Medical Insurance will enable an emergency evacuation to the US resulting from a medical emergency. However, should the client simply desire to return home faster than planned (and without a medical emergency), an additional cost may be assessed by airlines and transport services.

3. Do you assist with obtaining travel insurance that covers medical tourism-related risks, including complications and cancellations?

Depending upon the complexity of the procedure, Travel Medical Insurance covers most travel- related risks and travel cancellations. However, procedure cancellations are typically not covered by insurance. This is a measure that should be sought after in the hospital/clinic contract at the time of scheduling/paying for the procedure/surgery.
